Which Auctions Have Viewing Days?

RETAIL / WARRANTY AUCTIONS: Online only, Grade A stock including sealed and boxed goods, NO VIEWINGS

PUBLIC AUCTIONS: Grade B stock including returns, no warranties or guarantees. PUBLIC VIEWING AVAILABLE and recommended – Catalogues will be online along with an increased number of lot photos for all auction types

Where do lots come from?

Lots originate from sources including returns, overstocks, ex-display and police seizures. Via clients from high street retailers to Insolvency Practitioners & Receivers

Are there additional charges?

Yes: All lots are subject to the addition of Buyers Premium (currently 25%) then the further addition of VAT (unless otherwise stated) incurred on the total. Examples Below;

£100 bid on a lot with VAT: Y & 25% BP (eg. electricals) = £150 invoice total

Payment & Delivery FAQs

How can I pay for lots?

All auction lot payments must be made securely ONLINE by card or bank transfer. We will NOT be accepting cash or card payments on-site/in-person.

Both the Cash Offices and Coffee lounges will remain closed at this time.

Do you deliver goods?

YES: For our ‘Delivery Only’ Auctions – John Pye Auctions lots under a two person lift size will now be delivered by our deliver partner DPD to winning bidders (no onsite/in-person collections).

Northern Ireland FAQs

Which auctions can I bid on?

  • Customers from the Republic of Ireland can bid in our Northern Ireland auctions.
  • Customers from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland can bid on auctions in England, Scotland, or Wales however we do not offer delivery of items won and customers will need to arrange and pay for collection of won items.
  • Customers from England, Scotland, and Wales can bid in our Northern Ireland auctions and are eligible to receive home delivery with no change to our delivery rates.

When will auctions go online?

Previews of the Public Auctions at Ballymena will go online weekly on Fridays. The Ballymena site auctions will be open for online bidding on Friday evenings

Do you offer delivery?

UK delivery is offered on many of our auctions. Delivery options available for an auction will be detailed on the individual auction Preview and Bidding page.

Is there customer parking available?

Yes, our Ballymena site has a customer car park

Is there disability access?

The Ballymena site has disabled access and parking available

What is the condition of the lots?

Warranty and Liquidation Auction lots are Grade A stock to include sealed and boxed goods. Public Auction lots are Grade B stock and can include customer returns, there are no warranties or guarantees on lots

Are there customer toilets onsite?

Yes, our Ballymena site has customer toilets onsite

Do I have to view the items?

Public viewing is available and recommended for Public Auctions. Warranty Auctions are online only and public viewing is not available.

Vehicles FAQs

Condition of the Vehicles

All vehicles are strictly Sold As Seen. Lots can be physically assessed during viewing but carry no guarantees or warranties.

ATF Listed Vehicles

Bidding is open to trade and public but there are a fraction of lots listed as ‘ATF’ Vehicles, these particular vehicles can only be legally sold directly to Authorised Treatment Facilities and have no V5s.

Deposits & Payments

For vehicle auctions a £200 refundable deposit is required to secure bids, full payment and vehicle removals by the deadline. Deposits are not deducted from invoice totals but are refunded upon request by emailing deposits@johnpye.co.uk or can be left on the account for future bidding. Strict vehicle payment & removal deadline by 4pm the day after auction.

Collection & ID Requirements

Proof of ID – 2 x Forms of ID inc. 1 x Photo ID and a Utility Bill less that 3 months old are required prior to release of vehicles. Strict payment & removal deadline by 4pm the day after auction.

NOTE: Any vehicles purchased will be registered to the buyer’s name and address as registered on the account, vehicles cannot be put under other names.
