An exciting opportunity for lighting design and / or manufacturers to acquire an established Midlands lighting manufacturer – For sale as a going concern

An established Lighting Manufacturer based in the Midlands, delivering a range of energy efficient lighting to various market sectors with a turnover of c.£2.8m per year.

Smith Cooper (“SC”) has been engaged to assist in the sale of an established lighting manufacturer based in the Midlands. Operating from leasehold premises, the key business functions include a design team, global purchasing and a manufacturing, assembly, quality control and shipping team.

Currently employing 17 people, being 1 Director, 1 factory manager, 1 supervisor, 1 sales manager, 2 buyers, 3 technical/estimators, an office admin, a customer development person and 6 assembly operatives.

The client base is from various sectors, which include:

  • Retail
  • Transport
  • Lighting

 

Assets available for sale include an operational business, stock, work in progress, a sales pipeline of c.£50k, fixtures, fittings, and office equipment.

Turnover, per unaudited accounts for the year ended 31 December 2018 was c.£3.2m. Turnover per the draft management accounts for the period ended 31 October 2019, was c.£2.8m.

To protect the Company’s goodwill and trade, it is proposed that any sale will need to be completed by 4 December 2019, and as such, this opportunity is only likely to be available for a short period of time.

Following receipt of expressions of interest, and a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement, brief sales particulars will be provided via a data room. Offers for the purchase of the business and/or its assets as a going concern, by way of sealed bids, need to be sent to Smith Cooper by 12 noon on Friday 29 November 2019, together with evidence of funding.
