World Champion Boxer Carl Froch delivered a hammer blow Monday 12th November 2012 in the final run up to his global IBF title defence – as a guest Auctioneer at John Pye & Sons.
Carl teamed up with Forest’s sponsors John Pye Auctions, at the old Shippo’s brewery in Basford, Nottingham, Monday 12th November 2012 for the company’s weekly public auction.
‘Knockout Blows, Knockout Prices’
MD Adam Pye said: “Carl delivers knockout blows, Pyes deliver knockout prices – so we thought we’d offer him the chance to give it some hammer on the rostrum to auction some premium stock ahead of the big fight night.
“I think Carl could be a natural at this, he’s got the right persona for an Auctioneer; you need confidence, psychology and banter to auction from the rostrum.
“I’m looking forward to a bit of competition from Carl and our customers are looking forward to verbally sparring with a home grown World Champ by throwing in bids from all angles, he’ll need to keep his guard and strike the hammer blow at the right time to achieve John Pye Auction prices. It’s not for the feint hearted.”
John Pye & Sons hold more than 400 auctions, both live and online, a year across 9 UK sites.
