Position: Commercial Manager

Full Time Position : 35 hours per week plus overtime (time off in lieu provided for overtime hours worked)

Annual leave : 22 days per annum plus statutory Bank Holidays

Based : Nottingham Head Office and West Midlands Auction Hub at Marchington, Staffs with national expenses paid travel required. Also expected to hold meetings with colleagues and clients at John Pye & Sons UK sites; mainly Marchington, Staffs; Park Royal and the City, London.

Salary : Competitive senior salary depending on experience plus attractive annual profit related bonus

Description : John Pye & Sons Auctioneers require a full time Commercial Manager to help support the company’s national expansion programme into new industry sectors and geographical markets. The successful candidate will be joining the UK’s fastest growing commercial auction house at an exciting time. In the last 8 months John Pye & Sons have opened 7 new UK auction sites with a primary facility in West London and are set to open an 8th facility with the largest commercial auction house in the West Midlands opening within the next 4 weeks. John Pye & Sons Auctions is also a fast growing brand, now hitting national media platforms through the shirt and main club sponsorship of Nottingham Forest Football Club.

John Pye & Sons newly appointed Commercial Manager will have an abundance of marketing material and bricks and mortar to draw upon to sell the company to new commercial prospects. The successful candidate will be expected to secure new clients, stock and assets for some of the company’s new premises; mainly Marchington in Staffs, an 11 acre auction site.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a personable nature, good communication skills, self motivation and strong ambition with a good degree of commercial initiative. You will be be able to work on your own at times and as part of a team when necessary. The position requires a knowledge and interest of the automotive sector and ideally plant and machinery sectors also.

The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate a previous success rate in commercial sales, with a solid track record of hitting targets. The objective will be to research, identify, approach, develop and secure prospects within the automotive, plant and machinery sectors. The successful candidate will also be required to provide input work on bid tenders and assist the company with ISO accreditation. Full auction and company raining will be provided. The successful candidate will be joining a unique company with a high staff retention rate in a niche UK industry.

Necessary skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel & Powerpoint. Full UK driving licence essential.
