Fund raising activity has been abundant recently with a number of events taking place to raise money for ‘maggies’ cancer care charity. John Pye & Sons have pledged to raise £10,000 to support their charity of choice, maggies, which offers support to cancer sufferers and their families.
One event in particular was designed to raise hair as well as funds as John Pye & Sons invited the public to their Head Office site, which was once the renowned Shipstones Brewery. The grand red brick Victorian building and the sandstone caves beneath were opened to ticket holders for an entire night of ghost hunting.
Around 30 people attended the event, which was hosted by leading paranormal experts fright nights for a night of vigils, seances and scientific experimentation.
Some very unusual activity was reported including mysterious hair pulling and a table moving on its own. Although at times frightening, everyone had a good time and many have already stated their interest in returning for another.
Over £1,000 was raised for maggies which has opened a new cancer care centre at the City Hospital, Nottingham.
