New Service: On-line Commission/Absentee Bidding...

NOTICE: PLEASE READ THE DETAILS BELOW ON REGISTRATION & DEPOSIT REQUIREMENTS

Q)
What are commission bids?

A) Commission bids is the term used for absentee bids. If you are physically unable to attend a live auction (ie. our weekly sales) then under certain circumstances (see below) you will now be able
to enter commission/absentee bids on-line. A commission bid will be considered by the auctioneers as the maximum hammer price your willing to make against those particular lots (excluding VAT & premium).

Q) How do I leave commission bids?

A) If you are attending our salerooms during viewing times (typically 8.30 to 11am) but unable to stay through the bidding, then you can complete commission forms at our pay office. If you wish to leave
on-line commission bids you will need to pre-register at on our web site www.johnpyeauctions.co.uk, if you have not already registered in the past. Once registered, we will require you attend our salerooms at a later point to sign up and leave a refundable £100 cash deposit/bond to fully activate your account, gain a fixed bidding number & secure any future bids (in the same manner as live auctions).

Q) When can I make commission bids?.

A) On-line commission bidding will be enabled for full members this week. Lot details and Photos will be available on-line from around 5pm to 7pm the day before the auction. All on-line commission bids must be entered by 10.30am the day of the auction. If you are physically at our premises we may consider taking later bids but this will be purely at the auctioneers discretion.

Q) What are the benefits of registering?.

A) Along with being able to bid on-line if your unable to attend our auctions in person, you will also receive the added benefit of using the same fixed bidding number throughout all of our auctions and reduce the time spent having to re- register at future sales. Also access to trials of live bidding later this year.

Q) How will I know if my bids are successful?

A) As with current commission bids left at our pay offices, any successful bidders will be informed of there lots and invoice total by the end of the auction, this can range from 4pm to 6pm the day of the sale.

Q) What are the payment and collection deadlines?

A) As with people attending our live auctions, all goods must be paid for and collected from our premises by 4.00pm the day after the auction.
