After a series of successful stock auction trials, John Pye Retail department managed a national stock clearance for one of the UK’s biggest home retailers.
This instruction comprised of the company’s national seasonal clearance stockpile of two man lift furniture, spread across multiple UK distribution centres.
The client required a UK disposals network to not only spread the stock but also to reduce transport relocation costs of large bulky and heavy retail units, all of which have to be hand-loaded and unloaded from despatch to delivery.
Only John Pye Auctions offers such substantial secondary market tangible provisions to manage inbound receipt, storage and auction of hundreds of 40ft trailer loads of such stock deliveries.
On this occasion, we provided the client with a designated, secure stock quarantine, processing and screening area to be able to work on-site to assess stock volumes, quality and condition grades before deciding on the suitable secondary route to market.
The seasonal project is ongoing and is seeing thousands of units of upholstery furniture being strategically routed and drip fed to John Pye Auctions across England, Wales and Scotland.
