We are proud to be crowned by the UK Auction Industry as ‘Insolvency & Business Asset Auctioneers of the Year 2014’.

The UK’s National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers (NAVA) launched the industry Awards this year to celebrate auction industry leading benchmark performance.

NAVA – a professional self-regulating body founded in 1988 on the principles of expertise, experience, integrity and honesty – represents more than 300 UK Auctioneers and Valuers. The Awards recognise the achievements of NAVA members within the auctioneering and valuation industry and to reward those who go the extra mile.

Winners were determined by all areas of business including customer service, strategy, development, technology, innovation, marketing, staff and best practice through a 1,000 word entry submission and mystery shopping exercise. Nottingham’s very own John Pye Auctions, the UK’s fastest growing independent commercial auction house, which has expanded from one site to 12 in the last three years was judged to be the auction industry leader.

John Pye Auctions MD Adam Pye said: “We are delighted to have been recognised by our peers as setting the benchmark standard.

“We have worked extremely hard over the last few years to provide both our clients and customers with optimum levels of service and sales and this is now being recognised on a national level by both clients and peers.”

NAVA was established to bring together like-minded professionals aiming at an industry standard. Members are drawn from diverse fields of valuation and auctioning, providing a valuable cross-section of talent and experience.

They work in the areas of insolvency, plant and machinery, fine art and antiques, and country auctions; with particular expertise available in the motor and property worlds. In addition, specialists in fields such as philately, gemstones and jewellery, sporting firearms and bibliography can be found among the NAVA membership.

John Pye Auctions Business Development Director Sheldon Miller said: “John Pye Auctions has continually broke new ground in the auction industry, achieving some significant milestones.

“Most significantly, we were the first independent commercial auction house to make the transition from live to online auctions, with the last of our live auctions migrated to online in 2013. Last year we recorded 2.5m individual bids across 366 online auctions.

“The online platform has played a big part in facilitating expansion, supported by a team of more than 150 dedicated UK staff underpinned by solid bricks & mortar facilities, long standing industry experience and cutting edge marketing.”
